    Description

    An old antique shell grave marker from the Solomon Islands. The dead were buried in the forest and a marker like this would identify the grave. A stick was inserted in the large hole. This marker was in the forest for a long time and shows the wear of time.  It measures in length 3.25 inches, 8.5 cm and in diameter 4 inches, 10.2 cm. The picture is enlarged to show detail please refer to the measurements for the exact size. The coin in the picture measures 16 mm in diameter.
